The First United Methodist Church of Port Jefferson is honored to welcome internationally acclaimed pianistWe Make a Joyful Noise Unto the Lord

 Works by Grieg, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Chopin, Scriabin and Beethoven

 Proceeds from this concert will help fund the restoration and painting of the First United Methodist Church of Port Jefferson
 The American pianist Sharon Stanley-Lex studied piano in her native Chicago, at the Musikhochschule in Frankfurt, Germany and also at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels, Belgium. She has studied with eminent pianists and masters as Karl Engel, Julian von Karolyi, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Philip Martin, Martin Roscoe, Bernard Roberts, Hervé Billaut and Daniel Blumenthal. She feels particularly indebted to John O’Conor in Dublin who has been her mentor since 2002. Sharon has given many concerts in Europe and the United States, and in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Her recital at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London with cellist Maria Martinez was a highlight.

Under the leadership of musical director Carol Landis, our musical ministry adds enrichment to our services. We invite every one to become involved by singing in the choir, by contributing to musical offerings or by helping with our special events!
